Leigh Adoff was born in New York and studied voice at the Manhattan School of Music with Marlena Malas and Adele Addison. Leigh has taken part in master classes from Birgit Nilsson, Daniel Ferro and George Shirley. She has been an award winner and finalist in many renowned international competitions, including the acclaimed Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation Competition, the Orlando Opera Competition and the Opera Columbus Competition. In addition, Leigh was awarded the John O. Crosby award for excellence in Opera from the Manhattan School of Music. Leigh undertook her first roles whilst still a student at the Manhattan School of Music including Ann Trulove in The Rakes Progress and made her professional debut at the Houston Grand Opera as Helga in Astor Piazzolla's Maria de Buenos Aires. She was also awarded a place into the respected Glimmerglass Program. Leigh's diverse and varied roles include Lucia, Violetta, Gretel, Susanna, Madame Herz, Lauretta, Musetta, Le Rossignol, and Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites. Leigh has sung at various American and International opera houses and theaters including The El Paso Opera, The Berkshire Opera, The Manhattan Opera and The Whitewater/Sorg Opera. Leigh performed sucessfully at The Delaware Opera, The Augusta Opera, Sarasota Opera, The American Opera Projects, in Manilla Philippines at the Philamlife Theater, and in Ancona Italy for the Sunday Concert Series, Theatro della Muse di Ancona.

sang in the new production Teñoritas which premiered in Hamburg and
toured all over Germany and Austria, including Berlin, Bonn, Cologne,
Frankfurt and Salzburg. In the season 2005/2006 Leigh created the title role of Chantal in the world-premiere of Wischen – No Vision, a new opera by Marc Seitz and Gerd Noak at the Neuköllner Oper in Berlin. Wischen – No Vision won the Neuköllner Opernpreis in 2004. In November 2005 the soprano appeared as Guest Star in Jingle Bells at the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin. During the winter months Leigh Adoff gave a concert series in various cities in the United States. In April she was seen at the Liedergallerie Concert Series in Hamburg, She presented “From Purcell to Porter“ a Liederabend of English and American art Song.
